Al-Shafallah Broadcasting Educational Messages on the occasion of World Cerebral Palsy Day in collaboration with Int FM Radio
In the context of the social responsibility of media institutions
As part of the joint collaboration between Al-Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities and Int FM Radio, and based on the mutual memorandum of understanding signed between the center and the radio to serve people with disabilities, aiming to enhance their role and contributions in social, economic, and cultural development, enabling and supporting their participation in various fields, particularly in the media field. Additionally, raising societal awareness about their rights and fundamental issues, and working towards communication and integration in society.
Al-Shafallah Center recorded several informative radio messages in collaboration with Int FM Radio, where the radio broadcasted those messages on the occasion of World Cerebral Palsy Day, which falls on the 6th of October every year. These messages aim to raise awareness and solidarity with individuals with cerebral palsy, introduce the causes and rehabilitation mechanisms, shed light on their health, educational, psychological, social, and rehabilitation rights, and their integration into society.
Mrs. Laila Mohammed Abu Alfein, the Executive Director of Al-Shafallah Center, stated that the center attaches great importance to building partnerships with various governmental institutions, in addition to the private sector, for the benefit of the targeted groups, expanding the scope of its services and objectives for an important segment of society, namely people with disabilities.
Abu Alfein added that the collaboration between Al-Shafallah Center and Int FM Radio comes within the framework of the signed memorandum of understanding earlier this year between the two parties, in terms of media support to promote the culture of integrating people with disabilities and introducing the center's services. Moreover, the joint projects are accomplished to enhance the capacities of individuals with disabilities, train them, and integrate them into media work.
In another context, Abu Alfein emphasized the contribution of Int FM Radio in covering local and international events celebrated by the center, as well as launching awareness and educational campaigns related to disabilities, rectifying misconceptions and approaches to dealing with people with disabilities.
